T3: Hot on the heels of its first UK-bound Blu-ray player, Sony has unveiled two items that would partner it up quite nicely. The first is the Bravia D3000 series, a new model of LCD TV available in 32, 40 and 46-inch versions. The screen is capable of handling the 24 frames-per-second 1080p video mode output that matches the frame rate of real film exactly, and has all-new Motionflow +100Hz technology to double 50Hz material’s refresh rate and cut down on juddering during movement. It has three HDMI connections too, so hooking up all your new HD kit is easy.

Second is something that you can put your shiny new D3000 on – the RHT-G800 stand. This three-shelf stand can accommodate a 46-inch or smaller flat screen TV, but the clever part is that Sony has squirreled away a surround sound system inside it. Connecting up to your Blu-ray player or PS3 via HDMI, it has seven speakers, including two subwoofers, and creates virtual surround sound using Sony’s S-Force PRO system.
Both items will launch soon. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
