Slash gear: Apple has been quite successful with its iPod shuffle. The screenless iPod is targeted to lower budget iPod users and provide super portability of an audio player. Creative will not sit tight and let Apple roam around the industry with every product line up they have.
Creative introduced Zen Stone, a new player that will match up against iPod shuffles. Just like iPod Shuffle, the Zen Stone does not have any screen. Creative claimed the Zen Stone will be easier to use compared to Apple’s iPods with its drag-n-drop file transfer.
The device have folders recognition feature that will read act like playlist based on folders. It will support MP3, WMA, WAV, and Audible audiobooks. The Stone will be available in six colors on May 14th and priced at $40 (about 30 euro) for 1GB space.
