Digital Chosunibo: LG will provide free insurance coverage to 60,000 customers who own the company’s high-end Prada phone, initally in Korea.
Prada phone users will be given up to W200,000 (around €160) if their phone breaks, even if the owner is at fault. The free insurance is different from the existing product warranty.

It is unusual for a company to subscribe to insurance to cover broken products on behalf of customers.
An LG Electronics spokesman said Sunday that the company will take out the insurance policy as a way to burnish the phone’s image as a top-drawer product.
Developed by LG in co-operation with Italian fashion house Prada, approximatley 100,000 units have been sold around the world.
