Glowing eyes added to iRiver Mickey Mouse MP3 player

Mobile Magazine: Apple may have one of the skinniest portable audio players on the market, but iRiver’s got the appeal of Disney.

We’ve already seen the Mickey Mouse MP3 player before, but the device has now been upgraded with something that will either amaze you or creep you out.

No, Mickey hasn’t suddenly come to life and he won’t start reciting his lines from Fantasia or Steamboat Willie, but he does gain a little bit of life in the form of glowing eyes.

Microvision Pico Projector enhancements demoed

I4U: Microvision has announced that it will show off enhancements to its Pico Projector at CETTEC in Japan.

The Pico Projector is a tiny laser projector that is intended to allow mobile phone users and users of other mobile products to project images onto a larger surface for viewing.

Microvision says that the latest version of its projector is smaller, lighter, and brighter than previous versions. The projector uses a collimated beam of light and requires no lenses making it focus free at any distance.

Android and Windows Mobile ‘complementary’, claims HTC

Register Hardware: T-Mobile G1 manufacturer HTC plans to develop more handsets based on Android. It maintains this will not affect its Windows Mobile business – the Google platform and Microsoft’s are “complementary”, it claimed.

According to a report by DigiTimes, John Wang, Chief Marketing Officer at HTC, said that both systems have their merits, and so handsets based on either platform will appeal to different users.
 
For example, he said, Windows Mobile offers high performance, interoperability and a large library of applications. Android is more flexible because of its open source architecture.
