White LEDs will help the overall contrast (light to dark) but RGB clusters will help both the overall contrast and the color intensity. CMO has demonstrated an RGB product that I would consider the best looking LCD display I have ever seen. Dolby also acquired a company that will license a similar technology. I wouldn't pay up for white LEDs, but the enhancement afforded by RGB LED BLUs is amazing. The bigger question is…are the white LEDs or RGB clusters?
