Pioneer.eu: Pioneer announces 4 new multifunctional Slim AV Micro Systems. Each has different set-ups depending on needs and requirements: the X-SMC5, X-SMC3, X-SMC1BT and X-SMC1. Each model offers a modern and stylish look, with the X-SMC5 and X-SMC3 taking advantage of the superior music streaming technology of Apple’s AirPlay.
The slim all-in-one body of this personal AV mini-component offers use of a wide range of different media including – depending on the model selected – iPhone, iPod, DVD, CD and even file contents to suit your needs.
Featuring a smooth understated design of the body, stand and speaker sections, the systems’ footprint is small and compact. Each model in the range is made from high-quality materials, including a “metal punching” grill on the speakers. The iPhone and iPod dock is nicely integrated and effortlessly pops out at the push of the dashboard. In addition to an AUX input, there are ports for both headphones and USB. A powerful sound – 2×20 W – is relayed through two separate speakers that are attached to the main body of the unit.

AirPlay – In addition to providing great music quality, AirPlay allows you to stream music from your iTunes music libraries on Mac or PC, as well as music stored on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, though your Wi-Fi network. Remote control of your iTunes music library through the X-SMC5 or X-SMC3 connected to the home network, wirelessly or via ethernet is effortless. You can quickly and easily enjoy all your music with song information and album art simultaneously displayed on the colour LCD screen, integrated into the front of the X-SMC5 and X-SMC3 or on a connected monitor/TV.
Air Jam – Encouraging social connectivity via entertainment devices, our free Air Jam App is available from the App Store. With the AS-BT200 Bluetooth adapter (optional on the X-SMC1 and X-SMC3), up to four devices can be paired via Bluetooth. Once connected, each user can queue songs from their music libraries to create a collective playlist to play back on the Slim AV Micro System. Each connected device also displays the list of songs added by all the users and which device a song is playing from. The Air Jam App conveniently stores the lists of songs created for each session for future purchases at the iTunes Store.
DLNA audio and Internet Radio – Using the ethernet or WiFi connectivity on the X-SMC5 and X-SMC3 models, you can enjoy literally hundreds of radio stations available on the internet in addition to playback of audio content – including FLAC support – stored on a compatible network PC or media server.
Clock and Alarm – A digital clock is displayed on the 7-segment LED display, and the unit can be used as an alarm.
