iLounge: Created by Harman/Kardon as the sole wireless model in a new collection of Apple-inspired headphones, BT ($250) is a rechargeable 12-hour battery-powered Bluetooth headset with steel headbands, soft foam and leather padding, and 40mm drivers inside. The right earcup includes volume, track, and power buttons, as well as a port that connects to either a USB recharging cable or a 3.5mm audio cable for optional wired playback even when the battery is depleted. BT includes an integrated microphone for receiving phone calls, and soft carrying case that enables the headset to be safely carried flat when folded down. Surprisingly comfortable given their rounded boxy shapes, the earcups actually close off your full ears to the outside world rather than resting atop them, maintaining a nice balance of substantial weight and softness due to thoughtful mechanical and industrial design touches. Though currently not supported by iOS devices, APT-X audio codec support is built in, enhancing sound quality when used with Macs and some other devices. BT is presently an Apple Store exclusive.
