Electronista: New quarterly data indicates little change in the US cellphone market, according to research firm ComScore. Android devices continue to dominate as a platform, up 0.8 percent to account for 50.9 percent of smartphones. Apple’s iPhone, meanwhile, has grown 1.7 percent to claim a 31.9 percent share. (more…)

Pocket-Lint: Philips is to debut a new set of Android specific accessories at this year’s CES including headsets, Wi-Fi powered multimedia players and even protective cases.
The company is aiming to be the first ever to offer proper made for Android accessories, as opposed to the iPhone and iPad-centric products. It means owners of handsets like the Galaxy S II and the Motorola RAZR will have a proper set of decent audio products that link up easily with their smartphones. (more…)

iPodNN: JBL has just announced it’s shipping the OnBeat Xtreme iOS device dock. It can hold the iPad or iPad 2 as well as the smaller iPhone and iPod touch in its rotating dock connector. Bluetooth is its standout and gives it device independence, letting it pair with Android or any other Bluetooth audio source. (more…)

Engadget: Parrot has been teasing us with its Asteroid head unit for quite some time now, first showing it off at CES way back in January. It’s finally coming to the US in October and we got a chance to try it out in Frankfurt. This Android-powered unit fits into a DIN slot in your car — easily replacing many standard car stereos (and some non-standard ones too). (more…)
