JBL’s On Air Wireless AirPlay speaker dock gets official, unavailable to purchase

Engadget:  When we first peeked this AirPlay-enabled speaker dock, we were admittedly excited to see how things would turn out after it made rounds through the FCC. JBL just tossed up the splash page for the On Air Wireless speaker and we’ve gotta say — it looks to be a promising means of streaming your jams. The system connects wirelessly to your AirPlay-enabled Mac and iOS device on 4.2 or later and packs a screen that’ll display the track info of the song you’re rocking out to. What’s more, the rounded grill sports a dual alarm clock, FM radio, and a USB port for future firmware updates. As you might have surmised by now, the dock is not yet available for purchase and there’s no word on price. Harman launches JBL MS-8 integration digital processor for vehicles

Übergizmo: Harman has rolled out its latest JBL MS-8 integration digital processor that will see action in vehicles, and will target those who already have some kind of in-car entertainment system built-in, although this one will introduce a more modern form factor. The new processor is said to boost the audio capabilities of the existing set up by some distance, making this an essential add-on component if you are always on the lookout to improve your in-car audio capability when traveling. Features of the JBL MS-8 include a graphic equalizer with 31 bands which can also override automatic equalization to suit personal taste, memory that holds calibration settings for up to four seating positions, a digital crossover function allows precise, user-selectable crossover points and crossover slopes for up to eight separate outputs, Logic 7 technology for creating the ideal 5.1- or 7.1-channel surround-sound experience from two-channel source material, a preamplifier controls manage system volume, subwoofer volume, left/right balance, front/rear fader and bass/mid/treble tone controls, and override DSP equalization, time correction and Logic 7 processing. JBL introduces Control NOW loudspeakers for multiple home applications

HiddenWires: JBL announced the introduction of its JBL Control NOW indoor and JBL Control NOW AW outdoor high-performance loudspeakers. Both models feature a unique quarter-round shape that provides an unprecedented variety of installation possibilities, and incorporate innovative driver technologies to deliver clear, powerful and evenly distributed sound in any listening environment.

The all-new, uniquely versatile design of the JBL Control NOW loudspeakers enables them to be placed virtually anywhere – including areas where other speakers cannot be installed. The drivers are mounted behind a curved quarter-round front section, and the rear of the enclosure has three angled sections that enable the speakers to be corner-mounted between a ceiling and wall or between two walls. They can also be placed either horizontally or vertically on a shelf. The JBL Control NOW has a black finish, and the JBL Control NOW AW is available in a white finish.

Multiple JBL Control NOW speakers can be joined to create half-round, three-quarter-round, or fully round configurations, and they can be hung from a ceiling using an optional pole-mount bracket and standard ceiling-fan hardware.
