Panasonic LCD TV’s get bigger

HDTV: With the TX-37LZD70, Panasonic has broken with tradition by developing an LCD flat panel bigger than 32in. Previous offerings from Panasonic have been characterized by a clear demarcation in size with LCD TV’s up to 32in and Plasma screens 37in and larger.

The TX-37LZD70 joins the ‘Viera’ family featuring Panasonic’s proprietary V-Real Pro 2 picture processing technology and is equipped with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) pixel resolution screen with a claimed contrast ratio of 8500:1. Additionally, the new screen includes three HDMI slots, and acoustics have been beefed up with V-Audio Surround Sound speakers.

Panasonic have steered away from LCD TV’s over 32in in the past because of their belief that the technology was not up to the task. Current LCD TV’s from Panasonic have an excellent reputation so with the TX-37LZD70 we should hopefully have something special from the Japanese electronics giant.

Due out some time in September, price is expected to be around €1500.
