LG and PRADA release the PRADA II with matching PRADA Link watch

CrunchGear: Info about the PRADA II mobile phone by LG has been widely available for some time now, but the two companies finally went official ’bout the handset and released a matching watch at the same time.

The PRADA Link is simply a Bluetooth-enabled device that displays not only the Caller ID, but also full SMS text messages in modern Dick Tracy fashion.

The phone and watch come separately though with the PRADA II carrying 600 Euros and Link going for 299 Euros.

New season Prada phone coming soon to catwalk?

The Register: Unconfirmed reports claim that LG is developing a second-generation Prada handset that adds in a slide-out Qwerty keyboard to the current phone’s touchscreen.

Numerous online sources have stated that a formal announcement from LG is due in Q4. But as we wait for official word from the Korean manufacturer, speculative specs suggest that the new model will be quad-band GSM/GPRS/Edge capable, work on two UMTS 3G bands, and support 7.2Mb/s HSDPA downloads.

LG offers free insurance with Prada phone

Digital Chosunibo: LG will provide free insurance coverage to 60,000 customers who own the company’s high-end Prada phone, initally in Korea.

Prada phone users will be given up to W200,000 (around €160) if their phone breaks, even if the owner is at fault. The free insurance is different from the existing product warranty.

It is unusual for a company to subscribe to insurance to cover broken products on behalf of customers.

An LG Electronics spokesman said Sunday that the company will take out the insurance policy as a way to burnish the phone’s image as a top-drawer product.

Developed by LG in co-operation with Italian fashion house Prada, approximatley 100,000 units have been sold around the world.

Rumor: Gucci geared up to create a ‘Gucci phone’

Newlaunches: It doesn’t come as a surprise to me that Gucci has jumped on to the bandwagon of creating a “Gucci phone”!
After all famed international brands like Prada, D&G and Tag Heuer have taken the plunge in it since some time now.

What has got my imagination to toil is the outcome of this particular fashion phone. The whole buzz has been generated by two pictures that appeared on Flickr. Although it seems like a touchscreen cell phone, you never know it can also churn out to be a clam sell or a slider one!
