What Hi-fi: Jamo has announced a new surround sound speaker package for the budget market, the S 426HCS3.
Weighing in at just £300, the five-channel package has floorstanding front speakers, bookshelf rears and a dedicated centre and subwoofer.
Delivered in a black ash finish in the UK, the floorstanders stand 91cm tall and boast dual 5.5in woofers together with a 1in soft dome tweeter.
The rear satellites, 20cm tall, and centre channel come supplied with wall brackets. (more…)

What Hi-fi: Sony has announced four new G Series micro hi-fi systems, with the two top models incorporating built-in wi-fi for streaming music.
The G Series one-box systems are finished in solid aluminium with a hairline – brushed – finish and retro-looking control knobs. (more…)

Ubergizmo: The folks over at Soundfreaq are back with a new audio accessory called the SFQ-01W Sound Platform, or just Ghost (it’s actually the same sound platform they’ve been selling all this while, except that it now comes in a stunning white). Designed especially for iOS devices, it features Apple’s proprietary port which will allow users to plug in their iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad into the speaker dock to listen to music while charging it. Ubergizmo: The folks over at American Audio and Video have just announced that the rCube portable high-end iPod/iPhone/iPad sound system from Arcam is now on sale at select Magnolia Audio Video outlets in the country. The SVI Trade winner for “best iPod dock”, the rCube is one sweet looking device. In addition to looking good, the device performs as well, delivering hi-fidelity sound that are streaming from Apple devices and computers. (more…)

Akihabaranews: You, yeah you! Noisy little rats that are polluting our street with your so call music and other performances that you call art… Well it seems that you have some fans over at Audio Technica! Lucky you!
With this new Boogie Box AT-SPB30, Audio Technica wanted to bring a tough and ready to use speaker for street performers or other gathering. Replacing the AT-SPB5 introduced in 2009, this new AT-SPB30 comes with a new and more compact casing will offering a nice 2.1Ch setup with a 2Wx2Ch+3.6W output and a 47kΩ impedance and can be run up to 40h on just four AA batteries.
The AT-SPB30 weights a total of 630g, and will be put on the market next month in Japan at around 7,000 Yen.

What Hi-fi: First there was the Model 20, then the Model 25, now comes news of the £450 TVee Model 30 soundbar from Boston Acoustics.
Shipping in July for £450, the slim 3.1-channel ‘virtual’ surround soundbar and matching wireless subwoofer is designed to deliver “powerful, room-filling sound”. (more…)

What Hi-fi: TEAC has announced the latest incarnation of its Reference series of hi-fi products.
First out of the blocks are the CR-H700 CD receiver, complete with support for AirPlay, DLNA and USB playback, and the UD-H01 DAC with USB interface.
The UD-H01 will be joined by a family of products with the same, diminuitive dimensions, and each specialising in CD playback, PC audio, streaming and more. (more…)

Engadget: New audio input capabilities are nothing new for JVC, but soon you’ll be able to show off your guitar chops alongside whatever bands you choose to idolize — so long as you’re kosher with rocking a boombox atop your left shoulder, of course. The company has announced that the 2011 offering from itsKaboom line will showcase a guitar / microphone input (1/4-inch) with mixing capabilities to allow for gigs to be played from anywhere you darn well please.
